Not Finished Yet - I Am a Work In Progress - Be Patient With Me

"What I Believe about God Is the Most Important Thing about Me" - A.W.Tozer

Piri D.

I know and trust only One God and I’m not apologetic about it.

Lately I meet more and more people who are desperately search for something. We are made in God’s image and it’s a desire in us to find that relationship with God. But often people try to fill that need of God with all kinds of gods.

Many pick pieces of Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Islam and they mix it together picking the parts they like to fill their needs. People praise the Universe, and Karma for their success of failures, yet few acknowledge that there is ONLY ONE GOD.

I personally know ONE GOD only, and I am not apologetic or shamed about it. The God I know is the real God, his name is Jehovah – Yahweh. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega, he is my shepherd, my salvation, my provider, and he is my healer, the Almighty God, my Father.

You might call me radical, but my God radically changed my life. He took all my sins, all my failures, all my mistakes and exchanged it on the cross for a new life.

Trust God as a Father

I don’t know theology and I don’t know all the religious facts, I know one thing, that God changed my life. Gave me peace in the midst of my turmoil and loss, gave my strength when I had none, gave me hope when I couldn’t make it, provided when for months a job seemed totally hopeless.

How do I know that the God I know is the real God? He hears me when I call and answers my prayers. Does your God do that? Can Your God hear you? Can he deliver you? Do you know him personally? Does he know your name? The number of your hairs on your head? Does your God talk to you personally?

I don’t believe in a God image … I trust a God who is real, the one and only God, my God.

The biggest problem today is that people try God in their ways. If God is real then he should do this and that and the list goes on … I challenge you today for one thing: Tell God that you want to know him personally … and let him choose the ways he will show himself to you.

The biggest problem even within those who call themselves Christians is that we ask God something and we want to tell him how to answer and deliver our requests.

Can you imagine a three year old – when telling to her/his parents that she/he is hungry to go to mom and say – Mommy I’m hungry (this is how 3 year olds communicate) and then it would say: I want you to go take some veggies, and meat and peel the veggies this way, and cook them that way and serve them to me this way. Did you ever hear anything like it before? I haven’t. Kids are kids. They ask for their needs. And they trust that you that as a parent will fill that need in the best possible way.

Yet we often instead of asking God for our needs, and wants and desires … we want to tell him how to deliver, and if God doesn’t deliver the way we want him, then many say he doesn’t exist.

Can you imagine the 3 year old say to his/her mommy or daddy: well you didn’t make my food my way so mom and dad you don’t care, you don’t love me, therefore you don’t exist. Awkward isn’t it? And yet how many do the very same thing with God.

Trust God as your FatherThe Bible says that when people called to God, he answered.

At that time people began to call on the name of the LORD. Genesis 4: 26B

The only way you will know God personally if you call on him, and let him be God. Let him choose how he will answer your calls … I can tell you one thing, He will answer. Sometimes our problem with God is - not that He's so far away that we can't hear or see Him - rather, He is so close that we overlook Him. Our quest for God is just like fish in search of water. He is everywhere around. You have to choose to see him and acknowledge him in little things in your life, just as the big things of your life.

My prayer for you is that you will know God as personally as I know him and more. I know God desires a personal relationship with you; he loves you and wants your very best. I know he is totally heartbroken when people praise his creation instead of himself.

The Bible is full of verses when people called upon God and he answered, but I want you to have this personal knowledge for yourself. Having a relationship with God has to be personal. I love the Bible stories, but they are only stories. God doesn’t want you to believe in stories, but to trust HIM, to know HIM, to have a personal relationship with HIM. You will stand firm in God only when you will know him personally, that’s why I know God and I trust in him totally because I know what he did and still does in my own life.

Who is YOUR God? Do you know him personally? If you have questions I am more than happy to hear them and encourage you to dig deep to really know the God you think you know. Don’t get caught up with a God image, but have a personal close relationship with God.

P.S. The pictures I choose reflect how I know God, if I could describe the realtionship between me and God the pictures would be a perfect description.
