Not Finished Yet - I Am a Work In Progress - Be Patient With Me

"What I Believe about God Is the Most Important Thing about Me" - A.W.Tozer

He Carries Me … and He Carries You too

Most of you know this poem well. Today it was one of those days when I needed to be carried.

footprints in the sand - He carries me

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed

that during the low periods of my life,

when I was suffering from

anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,

"You promised me Lord,

that if I followed you,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during

the most trying periods of my life

there have only been one

set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most,

you have not been there for me?"

The Lord replied,

"The times when you have

seen only one set of footprints,

is when I carried you."   Footprints in the Sand - Mary Stevenson

God carried me. Over and over in my thirty-six years He carried me. I would have never made it without Him. There are days, just like today when all I can ask: Please carry me! And He does because He loves me. He picks me up, and carries me.

He carried me: when I lived in terror of fear of my dad for all my years home, He carried me (not even realizing it) when I gave up on Him and I didn’t care at all, He carried me when I was alone, when as a child lost my lovely grandma by cancer and faced death the first time, He carried me when kids made fun of me at school, He carried me when I didn’t felt loved and appreciated, when sleepless nights I wondered if life is worth of living, He carried me when I was ready to give up, He carried me when I lost all my hope, He carried me when waiting seemed so long, He carried me when I was smiling outside but torn inside, He carried me when I planned my baby-daughter funeral, He carried me when it seemed no way to make it, He carries me today when I can’t understand many things, but I know one thing for sure that He carries me today, just as He carried me in the past and He will carry me in the future.

He loves me more then anyone. I can share with Him my fear, worries, anxiety, doubt and disappointments. He cares about them and when I can’t make it on my own - He picks me up and NEVER let’s go. He never ever let’s go of me and of you. He will carry me and I know He will carry you too, because He is does not have favorites.

How do I know? He promised and He ALWAYS keeps His promises!

“And be SURE of this: I am with you ALWAYS, even to the end of age” ~ Matthew 28:20 (emphases mine)

Jesus promised this before He left. You and I can be SURE that He never let go of us. We are His precious children … No, He is not like many earthly parents who love their kids until they reflect good on them … No, Jesus loved us BEFORE we were even born, before we knew about Him, before we sinned. “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners” ~ Romans 5:8 Jesus choose me and you BEFORE we could ever say sorry for our sins or  say yes to His invitation.

We are really precious to Him and He will never let go of us, even when we let go of Him. He will carry me and you until we realize how much He loves and cares about me and you personally. Until His grace and mercy overflows your life and immersed in His love we accept the gift of Salvation by faith.

Today I needed to be carried again and He picked me up and carried me. When was the last time you felt you need to be carried? Are you in a situation or circumstance when you feel you can’t take one more step? It’s ok … when you can’t walk anymore … He’ll pick you up and carry you. He loves you. He never leaves you. He will carry you. So when you can’t walk anymore – just cry out for help and He will pick you up. You might not realize now that the footprints in the sand are not yours, but you’ll look back and know that it is His footprints in the sand, He carries you on His shoulder.

“I have cared for you since you were born. Yes, I carried you before you were born. I will be your God throughout your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you” ~ Isaiah 46:3-4

Promises, these promises are for me and you. As I look back and remember how he loves me, and carried me, just as He promised I know: I know I can face tomorrow because I can do all things WITH God. And I am WITH God at ALL times, because He promised.

Thank you Jesus that you picked me up carried me through the storm of life today too and as I shared my thoughts and getting close to the end of day … I can smile. Earlier I cried a lot, now I can smile, because I am in His shoulders. It’s not about me … It’s ALL about Him. Glory to God for it is all about Him.

If you ever feel the need to be carried, you can share your prayer request and we will pray for you.
